Will Lloyd passes away - Sunday 25th July 2004
It is with deepest regret that we report the death of Will Lloyd who died
suddenly in his garden at his home on Sunday 25th July 2003. Will, who was
a WRDA member and father of up coming racer Rhys Lloyd, was with us at
Pembrey celebrating his son Rhyss new class lap record at Pembrey. As this was
following on from Rhys's win in the fun Karting event the previous evening
Will was really so proud. Will was a huge supporter of Pembrey from the very
outset, and was a director of the circuit as well as serving on the BARC Council.
Our deepest sympathies are extended to wife Eirlys and son Rhys.
Will's funeral took place at 12 noon on Friday 30th August at Bethel Chapel,
Llanpumpsaint, which was full to capacity with a substantial overflow of mourners outside.
Many WRDA members attended and Chairman Rhodri Jenkins arranged for a floral tribute on
behalf of all Welsh Racing Drivers Association members and the Welsh Sports and Saloon Car
Championship. The church service was followed by a brief service at the crematorium,
Narberth at 1.45 p.m.
The family have asked for donations to made to the local hospital and further details will
be notified later.
