Presentation Night Saturday 9th November
The awful weather did nothing to dampen the spirits of those who made it to the dinner dance, held for the second year at The Bear Hotel in Cowbridge, where the welcoming log fires and oak beams created the right atmosphere to shut out the force of the elements. Unfortunately we were only a small number due other events being held on the same night. Nonetheless all those who made it thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Tony Allen was the MC and Clive Hayes presented the awards. After a review of the past season, and glimpse of the forthcoming season, the awards were made. For the first time the top 3 overall received a welcome cheque as well as the usual magnificent trophies. Anita Williams received a bouquet in thanks for her hard work as co-ordinator. Terry Brown was crowned as the 2002 Champion, retaining the crown he won for the first time last year. Much banter ensued when the suggestion was made that Terry might hang up his helmet. Terry was non-committal saying that it rested with his wife Heulwen and Dewi his mechanic, but he admitted he loved racing. Heulwen and Dewi put the ball back in Terrys court, so it appears its up to him. A disco followed and everyone danced the night away. Thanks to Anita & Cindy for organising the evening, it was great as ever and that goes for us all.
