Corwen racer Hywel Lloyd finished his first season in the Cooper Tyres British F3 International Championship with another strong points finish on the Grand Prix circuit at Brands Hatch on the weekend to move up to 13^th place in the final points standings. "We didn’t qualify that well but I was able to pick up some places".

However in race 2 Hywels’ race ended before it began after he was a victim of a first lap accident when he was taken out by Canadian driver Phil Major.
