Jan 2010 Snippets

Dave Krayem has joined the WRDA
& registered with the aim of having a crack at the Welsh Championship in 2010,
hopefully with his nice Ginetta G50. If Ken Rattenbury can get his Ginetta hooked up like
he did at Pembrey in October it will add some spice to the front of the grid. Alvin Powell
confirms that the damage to his beautifully prepared Mondeo has been repaired and it
should look as good as new once it comes back from the paint shop. So lets hope that as
the spring starts there will be a few more people dusting off their helmets and getting
ready for the 2010 season, with plenty of competition in all the classes
Alex Jones, who ran
in the MSA Formula Ford Championship last year is hoping to put a deal together to run in
F3 in 2010, has returned to a vigorous keep fit programme after a short break for
Christmas holiday in readiness. Alex has been using the quiet backroads on Anglesey for a
35 mile morning sprint on his bicycle or a jog through the local nature reserve. For
something different Alex also goes up into the Snowdonia mountains with his friends for a
mountain bike expedition - a picturesque but nonetheless testing exercise regime. Im
feeling tired just thinking about it!
Alan Jenkins is waiting for the 2010 Welsh
Championship regs to comeback from the MSA before they can be officially launched. There
were a few mutterings last year, about unfair practice, which were fully investigated by
the Steering Committee who found quite clearly that there had been no questionable
behaviour from any of the competitors.
The Sport
Relief Mile is scheduled for March 21st this year. There was a lot of
generous support for Robert when he & Marion did it 2 years ago, so hopefully there
will the same support again this time.
Help
For Heros There was a collection for this worthwhile charity at the
October Pembrey meeting when £281 was raised. Phil Bendal has sent us a copy of a very
nice letter he received from the Help for Heroes acknowledging this. Well done to Phil
& all concerned.
