Rhian Lloyd - in Memoriam

It is with sadness that we have to record that we have been informed that Rhian Lloyd has passed away.  She was laid to rest in the churchyard of Sant Beuno's Church in Gwyddelwern, Corwen, Denbighshire LL21 9DE on Wednesday 27th January

Rhian who will be sadly missed by her family & friends, and all who knew her, died on Wednesday 20th January in Hospital in North Wales after losing her fight against Leukaemia. She made an instant impression on all who meet her, and in particular in 2008 at the WRDA Awards Night at the Copthorne Hotel, when she joined her son Hywel, her daughter Eirian and her husband Iwan, as Hwyel received the 2007 WRDA Young Welsh Driver of the Year award. Rhian later partied well into the night, leading the revels. Rhian was an integral part of the family run CF Racing Team which took Hywel into F3 in 2008 and she was there on the pitwall as Hywel scored wins at Monza & Silverstone on his way to 3rd in the National Class.

She was diagnosed with Leukaemia in the Spring of 2009, and appeared to be responding well to several courses of treatment, but complications then set in, and she was re-admitted and passed away peaceably.
